The modular units for underfloor and above floor distribution are fully factory-assembled and, in the case of voice and data, pre-wired to project requirements. On site, simple plug-in connections ensure fast, cost-effective installation and absolute flexibility. Sockets can be accessed with ease, allowing simple re-siting of furniture with minimum disturbance.

FLEXIBILITY

Generally designed on a 3m grid, the underfloor sockets can always be accessed, irrespective of furniture layout.

VERSATILITY

There is a basic set of components, which are:-

• mains connection module
• extension module (any length lead)
• floor box connector (any length).

A multitude of options are available for example:

• ring or radial circuit modules
• modules with varying numbers of sockets
• colour-coded modules

each meeting specific design requirements.

MOBILITY

Moving workstations or offices thus becomes a simplified operation with minimum cost, time lost and disturbance.

Modular Power Tracks

The major feature with this particular track is that the flexible leads are not limited to 3m in length and thus we can reduce the density of power track under the floor.

Access Ports

This model also provides the foundation support for a range of power poles.

A lower cost plastic access port is also available.

Power Poles

We offer a range of high quality, tailor-made, power poles to meet the specification requirements of virtually all users. Combining power, data, voice and other features the poles can be provided with doors to protect plugs. Additional features such as light switches and cleaners' socket outlets may be added on request.

Desk Modules

We offer a wide range of desk modules to serve power and data requirements individually at each desk working in association with the desk cable ways and the access ports thus doing away with conventional floor box outlets. This offers the highest standard of cable management.

Power for underfloor air conditioning
- module labelled 'air conditioning only' (blue) sockets

Power for lighting
- module labelled 'lighting only' (yellow) sockets

Clean earth power
- distribution with clean earth continuity to provide dedicated uninterrupted power using red, non-standard, D-Shaped earth pin, 32 amp sockets.

Normal power
- underfloor power distribution through a network of modules providing accessible, standard, 32 amp sockets wherever required for energising floor outlet boxes and work stations.

Voice
- pre-wired voice modules providing up to 12 telecom master sockets per module.

Data distribution
- integral data trays with pre-wired sockets (where possible) compatible with systems being used.

POWERFLOOR

THE MULTIPOINT* POWER INVENTION
The Multipoint Powerfloor system contains 6 mm2 hard copper conductor, formed in the configuration necessary to accept the pins of a 13 or 32 Amp plug. The socket assembly, with an integral spring loaded shutter, to BS 1363, simply fits over the configuration and is held in place by the outer cover. The plug is thus inserted directly into the copper conductor, eliminating the requirement for other component parts, significantly reducing potential heat build-up within the system and increasing reliability.

APPROVALS
Multipoint holds ASTA certificate No. 3969/33 LC25: each socket configuration must withstand 15,000 insertions and withdrawals of the plug. It also meets the requirements of the 16th I.E.E. Edition of Wiring Regulations.

COMTRAY, COMFLOOR AND COMSPEC
COMTRAY (voice and data) and COMFLOOR (voice only) modules are fully compatible with the versatility and ease of installation of the Powerfloor system and ensure that total flexibility is maintained for all services. Fully factory-assembled and tested, the units are supplied pre-wired to specification, the products designed to meet the requirements of each project.

COMTRAY, complete with integral data tray, can be fitted with pre-wired voice and data sockets compatible with client requirements. The pre-wired voice modules can provide up to 12 telecom master sockets per module and are installed with the minimum of on-site wiring. Generally, the sockets are LJU 2/1A master line jacks, but other sockets such as RJ45 or RJ11 can be provided. All voice sockets have a galvanised steel cover for on-site protection. The floor box connector exits through a side wall grommeted hole or through flexible conduit fixed to socket cover.

Data modules similar to the voice modules can be provided with a variety of socket and cable types to meet the specific project requirements.

To relocate a work-station or floor-box, simply unplug each service, access another set of sockets and plug in again. Installed in conjunction with Powerfloor, the Comtray and Comfloor systems provide complete flexibility in power, voice and data and ensure full office mobility.

COMSPEC provides tray only. This can be converted into fully pre-wired voice and data modules at a later stage, simply by clipping in factory-assembled and tested channels complete with pre-wired sockets.
