AET introduces versatile, high strength raised access flooring solution
Advanced Ergonomic Technologies (AET) has announced a breakthrough in raised access flooring with its new, high strength Edil Beton range, purpose-designed for deep space retail sites, shopping malls and commercial office developments. Edil Beton panels use a special re-inforced, lightweight concrete and wire-mesh construction to form an incredibly resilient series of floor tiles. These are capable of supporting the same concentrated and/or uniform loads of traditional floor slabs but with all the accessibility, flexibility and installation benefits of raised access flooring.

Available for the first time in the UK exclusively through AET, the Edil Beton range is already well proven in numerous high profile applications across Continental Europe, Canada and the USA, including the impressive La Defense building in Paris. British architects, designers, retailers and commercial developers can now specify this floor system in any raised access floor application where the capacity to withstand weight distributions of up to 2500 kg/m2 or a concentrated weight of up to 500kg is required. The unrivalled strength provided by Edil Beton tiles ensures a reliable, hard-wearing flooring system for this type of heavy traffic retail and/or office area, or for projects where bulky equipment, such as, refrigerated display units, may be in use. Optimum fire safety performance is also assured with the panels having a zero fire load and generating no gas emission.
Measuring either 500mm2 or 600mm2, Edil Beton panels also offer specifiers considerable choice and versatility. They are available in a wide range of high quality finishes to suit virtually any interior design requirement. Any type of covering can be integrated into the base Edil Beton panel in any colour or design, including marble, vinyl, textile, stone, ceramic, wood or resin material to create a uniform, high integrity finish. Edil Beton panels are also guaranteed to offer exceptional quality and durability with all products manufactured and tested to meet rigorous quality standards at Edil Beton's ISO9001 approved production facility in Italy. Although extremely strong and durable, the panels themselves are very lightweight, weighing from between 12kg up to only 20kg depending on the panel selected. This eases installation and the subsequent maintenance of services hidden beneath the raised access floor. Edil Beton panel tiles are designed for installation with a choice of adjustable, load bearing, steel floor pedestals according to application requirements. These are engineered to offer a precisely level and stable floor and allow for multiple changes in floor heights, if and when required, from 80mm up to 1500mm. The Edil Beton system can also be easily adapted with stringers and baffles to form the plenum for AET's market leading underfloor air-conditioning system from Hiross. This innovative approach to building air-conditioning is proven to generate numerous cost-saving, design, operational and performance benefits over ordinary air-conditioning solutions. Italian company Edil Beton, has been operating with an innovative approach in the high-technology prefabrication sector for over fifty years and its aggregate access flooring accounts for over 250,000 sq m per annum. Edil Beton is unique in its ability to control every stage of the production process, from the raw material excavated from its own quarries through to the final installation, eliminating the risk of shortage and maximising turnaround time. With well over 1½ million sq m of retail and commercial building space now featuring its Flexible Space System, AET is the clear market leader in raised access floors which can also incorporate underfloor air-conditioning. The company has over 15 years' experience in the market and works closely with clients, architects, consultants and contractors to ensure all installations are completed on time and within budget.
