PRESS RELEASEAET at 'The Centre' in Hong Kong
In a $HK82.5m contract, AET's biggest project to date, over 90,000 sq. ms. of the Hiross FlexibleSpace underfloor air-conditioning system has recently been installed at the ‘The Centre’. This 73-storey building is located in the Queen’s Road Central district adjacent to the Hong Kong Express railway station. The building will eventually be the workplace for over 9,000 people. It offers 7,000, 000 sq. ft of office space and is serviced by 35 lifts. The design of H6 is set off by a computer-controlled primary colour lighting system which changes the building’s appearance throughout the night as converging lines produce a chameleon effect. Bletchingley-based AET (Advanced Ergonomic Technologies Ltd.) are the UK’s sole distributor for Hiross FlexibleSpace System and they are fully involved in this contract. The system uses an underfloor void as a supply and return air plenum and the air is drawn up into the occupied space via floor-recessed Fantiles with individual remote control for maximum comfort. The air-conditioning has been installed on 60 floors. 6,500 fan-assisted air terminals each with an individual controller have been fitted. These will be supplied with conditioned air by local units. The fan terminals serve 60 floors of the building with a total coverage of 1 million sq. ft. Each floor is divided in half with a dedicated Hiromatic control unit. There are full intelligent connections by data cable to six Hiroviser systems which provide monitoring and control adjustment facilities in the central facilities management office. The facilities management team at H6 will benefit from status indication and general alarm functions while the links to H6’s Johnson BMS system are extremely sophisticated. At all times the development team was insistent that tenants should be offered total flexibility in terms of ergonomic conditions. The modular nature of the Hiross air-conditioning allows every employee to adjust the temperature in his/her immediate work area according to individual metabolism and dress preferences.
A delegation from CIBSE has already visited the building and visits are welcomed. |
