Manchester Civil Justice Centre – AET Flexible Space

Manchester Civil Justice Centre

A mixed mode ventilation system provided the ideal buildings services solution for this complex structural design featuring multi-purpose rooms of varying sizes over 16 storeys.  The building has a striking appearance and is the largest court building to be built in the last 130 years.  It has been nicknamed the “Filing Cabinet” because of its cantilever floors at the end of the building

The building achieved BREEAM “Excellent” status, and is highly accoladed having won 25 awards for sustainability and innovation

  • Architect – Denton Corker Marshall
  • Developer – Allied London Properties
  • Consultant – Mott MacDonald

The contemporary architecture has a complex structure with few of the rooms being the same size and shape.  AET’s Flexible Space Under Floor Conditioning System was installed throughout the office accommodation within the new building. The system was selected by Mott MacDonald as a versatile mixed mode ventilation system to ensure maximum utility value and its capacity to be reconfigured easily and quickly
