TAG Aviation Development at Farnborough Airfield comprising Air Traffic Control Tower, Hangar & Terminal Buildings

£45 Million Re-development featuring 12,000 sq m of AET Flexible Space Underfloor Air Conditioning

  • Developer = TAG Aviation
  • Architect = REID Architecture
  • Consultant = Buro Happold

The underfloor system was jointly specified by the Architect and Consultant due to its flexibility, ease of installation and design freedom that the system allows.

An associate at Buro Happold commented;

“A system was needed that could be adapted to change with minimum time, cost and disruption to the client and occupants.  In addition capital and running costs were important considerations”

The system was praised by the architects as it is able to be retrofitted to existing plant structure and as a result they were able to absorb late fit out amendments into the programme without major plant reconfiguration

The terminal building was designed as a two storey office and operations wing offering high quality space for commercial tenants as well as conference facilities for business travellers and has won Architecture and Aviation Service Awards
